What was the highlight of Ranthari Hotel and Spa Ukulhas Maldives
Given the conditions of the island, the best hotel on Ukuhlas with great location!
Ingvar, the owner, and his staff are wonderful. They arranged our transfers to/from, met us at the port and were always kind and ready to help us sort out any query. They took us back to the boat for our departure, too. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor with a good menu for lunch and dinner, and breakfasts have enough - nothing "awesome". The spa has a wonderful massagist, Nastya. There is a small swimming pool at the terrase, which itself looked a bit out of maintenance and unattractive. We did not really used it, and I believe few people do since a bikini beach is right in front of the hotel. For rooms with ocean view they should be from at least the 2nd floor (better 3rd) since palm trees block the view from the windows/balconies.
They provide "clean" towels for the rooms and beach everyday. However, do not expect limpid white towels or bed sheets. In fact some of them looked old, yellowish and smelly. When we just arrived, our toilet did not look clean at all...as someone had used it before. But I called the reception and a staff member came to fix that. Edit: btw, the internet connection in our room (2nd floor) was poor. We could not rely on the quality of the internet to watch videos or have videocalls smoothly.

8/10 good stay
- Comfortable bed and pillows
- They were communicative on Whatsapp about the boat
- Nice pool and view from the rooftop
- The room was cleaned daily
- Good breakfast (eggs, bread, 2 fruit, chicken/beef bacon available, cereals)
- Nice hosts (incl. Polish woman) picked us up from the ferry station, and gave info - always saying hello and being nice.
- generally clean and close to everywhere
- very friendly personel
- There is a complementary coffee machine at the hotel but these guys have in place some ridiculous policy that if you want a coffee with milk you need to pay like from the menu $5. So I drink usually an espresso/americano with a spoon of milk, and I politely asked for it and I was refused. When I asked why, they couldn’t explain and two local staff men started to stand by me and force me to order from the menu and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I tried to explain I don’t drink lattes or cappuccinos that require a lot of milk so I don’t want to pay $5 for a coffee from their overpriced menu, I just want half of the espresso cup filled with milk (which is provided for breakfast for free) but they just kept talking no sense so I gave up and because of this attitude we decided to not take any tours with them and never eat anything in the hotel. For a hotel that charges $120 per night it’s unbelievable to be greedy like this for a drop of milk it just made me feel uncomfortable. Just put a creamer next to it or a small jug of milk dont be greedy.
- I went to the reception at 23:00 and called multiple times and nobody answered. I wanted to arrange a breakfast box as we were taking a last minute morning tour but sadly there was nobody to attend us. We ended up showing for breakfast and eating fast to make it for the tour.
- There was sand on our bedsheet when we just checked in (under the pillows and on the whole length of the bed under the cover) and small stains on the bedsheet. Not a big issue though as it was smelling fresh.
- Breakfast was the same everyday

Exceptional
Clean and new hotel, very good breakfast and good a la carte restaurant. The rooms are nice and have a super seaview with sunset. Close to the beach.
